Account Deletion

How to delete your account

You can delete your Prefux account at any time. The fastest route is inside the app itself, and your request is processed immediately. Below we spell out exactly what is erased and what is retained because the law requires it.

Three ways to delete

The first two take effect immediately. Use the third if you can no longer sign in.

1

From the mobile app

In the Prefux app, tap the account icon in the top-right corner of your role’s main screen (person icon, tooltip: My account), then tap “Delete my account” on the My account screen. The icon is present on all four role main screens (POS, waiter, courier, manager); if you are on a sub-screen, go back to the main screen first. You will be asked to confirm with your password (and your verification code if two-step verification is on). The mobile app follows your device language (English and Turkish are supported), so on an English device these labels appear exactly as written here.

2

From the web console

Sign in and open the Settings page — the web console interface is currently Turkish only, so it is labelled Ayarlar — then use the account deletion card at the bottom, headed Hesabımı sil (“Delete my account”). Click Hesabımı silmek istiyorum (“I want to delete my account”), enter your password (and your verification code if two-step verification is on), type your email address to confirm, and finish with Hesabımı kalıcı olarak sil (“Permanently delete my account”).

If the business’s subscription has lapsed, the console only opens the subscription notice page and the Ayarlar page cannot be reached; use route 1 or 3 in that case.

3

By email request

If you cannot sign in — forgotten password, you have left the company — write to us. Once we have verified your identity we complete the request within 30 days at the latest.

Your right to delete does not depend on somebody else’s payment status: deletion from the mobile app and deletion by email request work even if your employer’s subscription has lapsed. In the web console, however, the Ayarlar (Settings) page cannot be opened while a subscription is suspended — use route 1 or 3 in that case.

What exactly happens

In short: the details that identify you are erased, while the commercial records a business is legally required to keep remain — but they can no longer be resolved to your name, email or phone number.

Erased irreversibly

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your password and two-step verification settings
  • All your sessions — ended on every device, with no way back
  • Your courier name stored on delivery records — replaced with “Deleted User”

Your push notification device records are deactivated: no further notifications are sent to a deleted account. The device record itself is kept in an inactive state; it holds no name, email address or phone number of yours.

The first five items above are erased immediately, regardless of the business’s subscription status. The courier name, however, is changed inside the business’s own database: if the business’s subscription has lapsed, that database cannot be reached at the moment of deletion, so this step is deferred — your identity data is still erased immediately, but the courier name on delivery records stays in place until the business renews its subscription. The deferral is written to the audit record; you can report such a case to info@prefux.com.

Retained — but not tied to your name

  • Sales, restaurant check and delivery records
  • Inventory and cash movements
  • Security and audit logs
  • If you worked as a courier, the location points recorded at delivery moments — cleared automatically within 30 days at the latest

Commercial and financial records (sales, checks, inventory, cash) cannot be deleted under commercial and tax law. After deletion they contain no name, email address or phone number of yours, and once the location fields are cleared, what remains is simply a transaction belonging to the business.

When are location points cleared? The automatic sweep that blanks the latitude/longitude fields runs inside the business’s database, and location points are cleared within 30 days of being recorded at the latest. This period is independent of the business’s subscription status: the sweep runs even for a business whose subscription has lapsed or whose account is suspended. If you would like erasure sooner, you can request it at info@prefux.com.

Security and audit logs are not deleted either: they continue to hold your account identifier (a number containing no name, email or phone number) together with the IP address and device/browser information used at the time, for intrusion detection and as evidence in disputes. These records are append-only — the application never overwrites or deletes them. The business activity audit log held in the business’s own database is additionally protected by a tamper-evident hash chain, so a retrospective change can be detected. The system/sign-in log that records sign-ins, two-step verification and administrative actions — where the device/browser information is held — carries no hash chain.

Frequently asked

How long does it take?

Deletions started from the app or the console are processed immediately; when the operation completes your session ends and the account can never be signed into again. Requests received by email are completed within 30 days at the latest, after identity verification.

If I delete my account, is my company’s data deleted too?

No. In Prefux, business data (products, sales, customers) belongs to the business, not to individual users. Deleting your own account does not affect it. If you want an entire business and its data deleted, the request must come from the business owner — write to info@prefux.com.

I am the sole owner of a business and cannot delete my account.

An account that is the sole owner of a business cannot be deleted directly — doing so would leave the business without an owner and nobody could reach its data. Transfer ownership to another user first, then delete your account. Alternatively you can request that the business be closed entirely.

Can my former employer delete my account?

Yes, they can. An administrator at the business you worked for who holds the user management permission (owner/manager) can permanently delete your account — even after you have left and been removed from the user list. The action cannot be undone: your name, email address, phone number, password and two-factor credentials are irreversibly erased. This exists so businesses can erase a departed employee’s personal data as data protection law requires. There are two exceptions: (1) if, after leaving, your account was attached to another Prefux business, your former employer can no longer delete it; (2) an account that is the sole owner of a business cannot be deleted. The business’s commercial records (sales, orders) are not deleted; they no longer contain your name, email address or phone number.

Can a deleted account be restored?

No. Deletion cannot be undone. A new account can be opened with the same email address later, but it will be an entirely new account — no history from the old one carries over.
